Once the program has been installed, it can be run from the Programs menu, or by double clicking the Lipreader icon. The accompanying booklet explains how to install the program. The booklet also includes beginners' tutorials to help you learn how to use the program, and a selection of worksheets.
The program is started from this screen, but you must have the original Lipreader CD in the drive. Enter the letter for your CD drive (the booklet explains how to find it), and click the [START] button to start the program.
The Start screen
The Home screen
The Lipreader Home Screen is the starting point for all the program options. From here you can select the main program modes, Lipreader puzzles, and the range of options for advanced users.
The Home screen can also be used to Quit the program, open up a browser to look at the reference document, and to look at some basic information about the program. You can also select a variety of backgrounds for Lipreader screens.
When the program is being used for the first time, it is necessary to copy all the data files from the CD to your hard drive. The program has a routine which handles this for you.
